My Commandments
Life lessons/dogmas/mottos/thought paths/notes to self

- the best way to teach yourself a lesson is by writing it down on things you will be reading back
- you will probably never get rid of your family so you should best just keep in touch and stay nice to them
- success at your study is the most durable achievement you can be working for in this point in your life
- whenever you feel suspiciously good, ask yourself whether you’re enjoying yourself, amusing yourself, distracting yourself or destroying yourself
- a lot of things are basically drugs but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be avoided
- drink more water, listen to more noise, read more philosophy, for cleansing of the soul
- boredom is pretty healthy; see three points ago
- a paraphrased classic: everything in moderation, even moderation itself
- your friends may be cool but they’re not you so don’t make too much of them
- invest in yourself, as long as you know what you’re doing
- just turn off your fucking computer for once and go into the real world!
- you may not sympathize with everyone but remember that it’s all a matter of perspective and people do the things that make sense to themselves just like you do
- a lesson to our times relating to multiple earlier points: politics are useful but don’t abuse it (or get addicted)
- just don’t dive too deep into any subject; they are all all-encompassing in their own way and merely muddle a balanced perspective
- regrets need to be suffered, because lessons need to be learned
- don’t forget to do things you really want, even if there are obstacles or challenges, procrastinating your goals leads to the greatest regrets, so don’t be lazy
- don’t give other people your life lessons, they’re usually bad advice for at least half the receivers
- entertainment is for people but art is for yourself
