Sleep Paralysis
(Narcolepsy Poem)
Nyelomé
This unending dream, a nightmare placation
Inert with the frail note of
a scream.
Broken chestfalls as the heart begins to race
Before it
stops.
Asphyxiation scars the face.
Cruel siezure of corrupted lungs,
eruption of cavities as the brain begins to boil,
Eyes encapsilate to dialate with death,
A desperate grasp
and at last
awaken.
A pariah of sleep paralysis,
the heart beats anew.
The haggard horror of death is past.
Neurons refire when brain require,
replete to antagonize a return
to life.
Scars of symmetry within the capacious brain,
Death has faded, but the memory remain
